Printing instructions:
1. Import files to your slicer.
2. Scale Front BASE, Front Pillow and LED mount down to 92% on X and Y axis. Leave Z at 100%. This way it will match the reference design.
This step is optional and depends on what shoes you ride. By default I recommend applying this scale. You can go with 100% no problem, but after some tests we found 92% downscale is more ergonomic.
3. If you are not sure about your printer tolerances you may want to scale LED mount down additional 0.5% (because there is a thread to secure it and if your printer gives an expansion or shrinkage it may be hard to fit) . So make it 91.5%
4. Copy and Mirror ALL parts for the LEFT side. Please make sure to mirror the LED mount as well, so the thread direction can match a mirrored base.
5. Print Bases and LED mount with harder TPU 90A
6. Print Pillows with soft TPU 85 or less, also TPE will be good.
7. Click pillows into the bases.
Pads dimensions:
Pads depth is 75mm, and its perfectly measured for comfort and performance. But, as always, you are free to adjust scales, and change depth with Z scale if needed.
Pads can be printed on 250x250 bed size in 100% scale as designed.
Recommended settings:
Its recommended to print with 0.6 nozzle as a print is long. If you don't have experience with 0.6 you can stay with standard 0.4 and follow respective settings below.
For 0.4 nozzle:
10% Infill gyroid
Base:
2 walls
2 top layers
Bottom layers: base plate should be solid, so solid 5-8 bottom layers
Pillow:
2 walls
2 bottom layers
4 top (important!)
For 0.6 nozzle:
8% infill gyroid
Base:
2 walls
2 top
Bottom layers: base plate should be solid, so solid 5-8 bottom layers
Pillow:
2 walls
2 bottom layers
4 top
If you dont have soft TPE not a big deal. You can still print with 90A-95A TPU - it just will be a bit less grippy.
Use Avoid Crossing Walls and print one part at the time for smoother wall finish.
Warning:use your experience to adjust these recommendations. All filaments are different. Some can be softer and you need more infill. Use your best judgement but overall these settings is a safe start point.
Always dry your flexible filaments before printing. 6 hr in filament dryer or 12 hours on the print bed unde the cut filament box. Even brand new filament from the sealed bag.
